Born in 1960 to farmers in a small village in Northern Mexico and the oldest of 3 children, Jose H. Reyes, Founder and President of Original Food Co., acquired knowledge and skills in agriculture throughout his childhood and youth as a means of survival and to provide for his family.

Growing up, Jose understood the value of a formal education and made it his mission to acquire a formal education in agriculture in Mexico. After Jose finished his education in Mexico with a degree in agricultural engineering at Universidad Autonoma De Tamaulipas, he would take his chances and move to the United States to the city of Dallas, TX, for a chance at a better life and to continue pursuing formal education in agriculture.

While pursuing his education in the US, Jose worked in construction to fund his education and financially support his family back in Mexico. Jose eventually became certified in the United States and officially began working for USDA as an inspector of agricultural goods crossing to and from the border in Laredo, Texas.

During his tenure at the USDA, Jose was sent across the globe to learn new techniques and methods of transporting agricultural goods across nations. Jose stopped working for USDA and started Original Food Co. in 2011. Jose used the skill sets he had acquired during his lifetime to help guide his business to where it currently is, and he is driven to take Original Food Co. to new heights.
